For autumn, the main theme of Matsukawa (and in many kaiseki restaurants) is matsutake. Here they also used the local Japanese matsutake from Iwate. I previously posted the whole piles of fresh whole matsutake to be used for our meal on a plate. Because of this ingredient, the kaiseki meal was around $10000 yen more expensive than usual menu. Consider the plethora of matsutake used in different forms throughout the meal, that was probably reasonable.
